Reflect on your name: the name you were given at birth (first, middle, and last), the name you prefer to go by, nicknames given to you by friends or family, any name changes you may have undergone (such as with marriage), etc. What messages were your parents conveying by their choice of names for you? Do you feel that your name is indeed a reflection of your identity, or is it incidental? What meaning does your name (whether given at birth or chosen later) have for you?

Your total should be 700-750 words (2-3 pages double-spaced). Remember, this is replacing part of an exam grade, so it should be given adequate time and attention, not hurriedly dashed off five minutes before the deadline. 🙂
