Final Project Budget Considerations
For your final paper, you will be the new Police Chief of Any Town, USA. The Mayor has hired you because he believes that you are the right person for the job. The former Police Chief was terminated because of his failure to address community issues and operational issues that exist in the department.
You are being brought in at the beginning of a new budget cycle. Please prepare an 8- to 10- page legislative review of your department’s
budgetary goals for your upcoming new fiscal year. In your legislative review, you will identify your departmental priorities in terms of staffing, reduction of crime and community policing. Your proposed budget should mirror what your priorities will be.
