Car Racing Collision

Assignment Directions:

Your assignment is to research and describe 3 how the seatbelts, airbags and crumple zones of a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu improve a person’s chance of surviving an accident compared to someone in a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air. You will describe how the concepts of impulse and momentum help explain how they work. You may use observations from the video as a part of your description.

For each safety feature, you should:

  1. For each safety feature, you should:
    1. define the safety feature;
    2. explain how the safety feature functions in the vehicle;
    3. discuss each of the variables in the equation F∆t=m∆v and how the safety feature affects them; and
    4. provide references for any research that you did to complete your paragraph (minimum 3 references).
