aired on TVO in January 2020: 15%
Before our in-class meeting on Saturday, January 25, each student will have to view the 1 hour
documentary, The Lost Highway (2013) write a brief Reflection Paper based on one of the
assigned readings examined during this unit. Responses should only be up to 500 words, and
should include a brief summary of the readings and a critical examination of the central theme in
the documentary. What are the major arguments and concepts put forward in the readings in
weeks 1 and 2 and documentary film? What should the role of the provincial government be in
supporting people in these communities? Is this content relevant to your own life?
Please remember that reviews should not merely summarize the readings or the documentary.
Students are expected to critically unpack the material noting points of agreement, disagreement
and questions that might require further research or explanation.
