Discuss Sachs ,The end of Poverty ,Chapter 2: “The spread of Economic Prosperity” pages 26-50 (in file) and answer the discussion questions in file also.
1. Sachs asserts that “the gulf between today’s rich and poor countries is … a new phenomenon …” (page 28), one that emerged at some point between 1820 and 1998. He does not believe the common assumption that this disparity is because the rich nations robbed the poor nations (page 31). What evidence does he offer to support his claim? In light of his evidence, does his assessment seem reasonable? Why or why not? Please explain (4-5pages)
