ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT HUMBER COLLEGE
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly redefined the classroom experience for educators and
students alike, as it improves learning outcomes and creates personalized learning experiences.
Humber College is considering the adoption of an AI system to enhance student learning and aid
in the automation of certain processes. The Board of Governors has hired you as the main
consultant and your role is to create a report outlining the features, benefits and implications that
the Board must consider before reaching a decision. You will create a minimum 2,000 –
maximum 2,400 word essay answering the following questions:
1. Why is AI important in the education industry?
2. Describe 3 major applications of AI for Humber College. How will it change the standard
operating procedures (solve the problem / improve the process) and who will it benefit?
3. Will the new AI system require Business Process Reengineering or Business Process
Improvement? Justify your decision.
4. Who will be in charge of managing the AI system? Are there any jobs that are created or
eliminated?
5. What risk mitigation strategy will be adopted and why? What controls will be put in place?
6. How will the data be stored (data warehouse or data mart)? Justify your answer.
7. Are there any ethical implications? Why or why not?
8. Based on your research, should Humber College adopt an AI system? Why or why not?
