Choose ‘systems map’ out of the 4 mapping options available on Kumu. We will use the most basic functionality, i.e. you will add elements and connect them together. In other words, all you need to define are circles and relationships between them. You can also change the size of the circles and relationships to indicate if some elements and relationships are stronger than others.
Start by putting your social issue/opportunity as the first circle. (HOMELESSNESS) Consider other elements surrounding it–people, organizations, resources
Mapping must be done thoughtfully, showing that you have done your research and consulted with each other. For example, the arrow of the relationships is important, and so is the nature of relationships: the arrows may be one way, two ways or reinforcing. 4. Save a pdf version of the map.
