Write a five-paragraph essay about symbolism in Romantic, Victorian, and Modern literature. Choose three stories or poems from these time periods and write your essay analyzing the work’s use of symbols and their meanings. Be sure to write appropriate topic sentences with transitions that mention the author, work, and symbol as well as what the symbol represents. Use two quotes from the literature per body paragraph. Also, use two secondary sources in the essay. Make sure to format a complete and correct works cited page.
