Topic: How does sentencing reform affect prison overcrowding?

A 20 page research paper with 15-25 references in APA format with a bibliography. Include the abstract. 12 pt font, times new roman,1″ margin, and double spaced.You have to have four peer reviewed sources for references also. My topic needs to include a history of prison use in the U.S, a background of what is the problem and how we came about the problem, and how the prison population expanded. Include statistics of course at the state and federal levels. Can include other sentencing options like truth in sentencing, three strikes law, mandatory minimum sentences, and cutbacks in parole. For the end of the paper you have to come up with a solution to the problem using the statistics/research.
