Transorganizational Change

Objective: This week’s assignment has you write an APA formatted essay that describes the contacting, diagnosis, and intervention stages for a case.

Preparation Task. Review Week 6’s textbook chapters that cover the topics of transformational change, trans-organizational change, and a built-to-change organization.

Reviewing these chapters will help you start the research needed to draft your essay. Moreover, the concepts in these materials are crucial to successfully completing this assignment.

Assignment Step 1. Read the case Leading Strategic Change at DaVita: The Integration of the Gambro Acquisition in your textbook (p. 645-657). Be sure to take notes.

Step 2. Using your notes and what you have learned this week, answer the following questions: · How would you characterize DaVita’s strategy?

What advice would you give Kent Thiry in terms of leading and managing the integration of the Gambro organization?

What would be included in your “first 100 days” action plan?

How could you preserve DaVita’s culture in the face of an acquisition that includes Thiry’s former organization, Vivra?

Step 3. Time to produce an essay that should meet the following requirements:

Requirement 1. Your essay must address the questions from Step 2 using the concepts and the topics covered this week. Be sure to support your claims and assertions using citations.

Requirement 2. It must be an APA formatted 3-5 page long (1000-1500 words) essay. You might find it helpful to use the APA template available at the CIU Writing Center.

Requirement 3. It must contain at least three scholarly sources (peer-reviewed journal articles) and a minimum of five in-text citations. Requirement 4. It must have a title page and a references page (not included in the word count).
